Saraphina gloves

These are a gift I designed for my eclectic-dressing friend, Saraphina. She's a dancer and amazing Yoga practitioner who, along with Melanie, was my most dedicated student - even helping me choreograph the best Ms. Fitness routine that never was. They look just like her - beautiful, graceful  - a joy for the beholder.
I have the pattern written out - email me to get it.

Lucky Socks
I used to have a pair of lucky socks - good things would happen to me everytime I wore them. I would hang them to dry to increase their longevity, but as the elastic went, so did the lucky. So I knit a pair - I had no interest in knitting socks except to know that I could, but these babies practically knit themselves. Upon finishing them I felt like a real knitter. I didn't even get "second sock fever" a terrible disease that has afflicted many a knitter. Can't wait to do my next pair - they'll be for Tim, although clothing those boats of his might take a little more effort.

Nautilus Hat
This is an easy cap with yarn overs that I knit for the beeotch that was my supervisor at my last job. She's not hat-worthy anymore, but it was fun to knit. The pattern is on the net - designed by another Angeleno. Search the name and it'll come up.

Capelet

This was made with some remnant yarns in the round. It took no time at all. I made up the stripe pattern and purled every once in a while for texture.

Cable V Sweater
This is from Vogue Knitting Fall '05. I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and had to modify the shoulder into a saddle to make enough room for my pits. Not a slimming sweater by any means. The edging is done in Kid Silk Haze.

Shawl Collar Sweater
Made this for Candice for Xmas. Used Cashmerino - the easiest yarn to use and so soft. She said it hasn't pilled at all and is holding up well in Nebraska. Shawl collars are funky shaped, counter-intuitive, and take forever, but they look awesome!

Other Crafts:
My first Quilt - I learned to quilt with my friend Christy in Austin. I made 3 quilts before I retired. This is the first one. It uses japaneese-inspired fabrics in Black, eggplant, robins egg and banana - mmm sounds like a yummy smoothie.

Stack n' Whack Quilt

This is made by finding the measurement of the pattern repitition and then cutting the length of fabric into 8 equal segments. You stack them and then cut - co everytime you get a piece you actually get pieces exactly the same. I made this for mom and it's still on her bed 6 years later. Yae!

Japaneese Sashiko quilt

I made this for Alison and Guy for Xmas 1999. It's a small wall hanging.

Quilt for Candice

This is Queen size! I had to nail a piece of felt to my living room wall to stick all the pieces up and figure it out - I kind of designed it as I went, based on a design in a book. Thank God Tim doesn't mind when I tear up the house to do these large craft projects. The center is an appliqued waterlilly.

Woolfelt Xmas stocking for Jack. How cute is that!
